With almost a week to go for IPL Season 6 to commence and as the final agreements are being signed, industry sources tell us that a big deal has been cracked between Star India and BCCI.
Star India has come on board, making huge investments, as the ‘On-ground Associate Sponsor’. Through this associate sponsorship, Star India plans to promote its flagship channel Star Plus extensively via a post event award ceremony.
‘Nayi Soch Awards’, which fits well with the tagline of the channel ‘Rishta Wahi, Soch Nayi’, will recognise and award those players who’ve brought an innovative and fresh approach during the IPL matches.
There’s also another category which will be called ‘Nayi Soch’ moment for the most innovative cricketing moment in the match. Though official announcements are awaited, this deal may not be good news for Multi Screen Media, the official broadcasters of IPL.
