Star India reports 30% jump in total revenue for FY19
The company’s total expenses for the fiscal have been posted as Rs 12,930 crore
Star India Private Limited has released its financials for FY 2018-19 and according to financial data accessed by business intelligence platform Tofler, the broadcaster has reported a 30 per cent jump in its total revenues for the financial year 2018-19 at Rs 11,956 crore, compared to the last financial year. The revenues for FY18 stood at Rs 9199 crores.
The company has further reported a net loss of Rs 636 crore during the same fiscal and its total expenses stood at Rs 12,930 crore.
Numbers provided by Tofler also suggest that Star India Private Limited's operating revenue is over Rs 500 crore for the financial year ending on 31 March, 2019. Its EBITDA has decreased by 150.83 per cent over the previous year. At the same time, its book networth has increased by 11.51 per cent.
Going back to FY18, Star India’s standalone profit after tax was down 44 per cent but its revenue was on the rise with a growth of 5.8 per cent.
The company’s net profit had slumped from Rs 1,155 crore in FY17 to Rs 642 crore in FY18.
Last week, Hotstar posted operating revenue of Rs 1112.70 crore for FY19, as per media reports. This is a jump of 95% from the previous financial year for the holding company Novi Digital Entertainments.
