Rohan Lavsi is all set to lead the Hindi movies business across platforms at JioStar. He will be a part of the team led by Alok Jain, who will head the entertainment cluster for the Reliance-Disney joint venture.

For six years before the new appointment, Lavsi headed the Hindi movies cluster at Viacom18 Media Private Limited. In this role, he developed and executed the strategy for the cluster to maximize viewership and watch-time across TV and Digital.

He also led the development of financial plans and forecasts and managed the budgets for the cluster. Lavsi’s responsibilities included the acquisition of movies and other content along with managing the performance and development of his team members.

Earlier, Lavsi held the position of VP & Head - Business Planning & Strategy and India Syndication, Hindi & English Entertainment at Viacom18 Media Private Limited for seven years. In this role, his responsibilities included content acquisition (shows, movies and events), deal structuring and B2B sales.

In this role, Lavsi also worked on business planning and strategy, including the preparation of the annual operating plan, project launches, new channels, cost optimization, strategic inputs to senior management and the right management system.

His appointment is part of a broader leadership movement following the landmark joint venture between Reliance Industries Limited, Viacom18 Media, and The Walt Disney Company.
