MIB grants registration to 18 new MSOs in last 3 months

The ministry has also cancelled registrations of five MSOs in the same period

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has granted registration to 18 new multi-system operators (MSOs) in the last three months (March 13, 2020 to 24 June, 2020).

The total number of registered MSOs now stands at 1664.

Among those to have got the registration are - Cloudnet Infocom Pvt. Ltd, Global Vision Cable TV & Internet, -Digital Network Pvt. Ltd, Digicast Network Pvt. Ltd, Bongaon Cable T.V. Network, FM Video, Uma Cable, Baroda Cable Network, Star Digital Cable TV Network, Smart India Digital Services and RK Digital Cable Network.

MIB issued registration to six MSOs in the month of March, two in April, six in May and four registrations in June (till 24 June).

MIB has also cancelled the registrations of five MSOs between March and June, namely Modern Cable Network, Geo9 Cable Network, Inishia Media Pvt. Ltd, ALCOA Digital Pvt and City Online Media Pvt. Ltd.
