IPL 5 ends on a high; 8.92 TVR for final match
The tourney had seen a tough start but courtesy popularity of teams such as Kolkata Knight Riders, the finale has rated better than IPL 4

After much debate on whether the IPL (Indian Premier League) is as relevant a property as it was in its previous years, the fifth season has once again established that IPL is still amongst the biggest television properties at present.
According to exchange4media analysis of data from TAM Sports for the C&S 4+ in the all India market, the fifth season of the tourney has averaged 3.45 TVR. In 2011, this number was at 3.51. The best season continues to be the first with an average rating of 4.81. In the second season, the average dropped to 4.17 TVR but picked in 2010 to be at 4.65 TVR.
The final match that took place between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on May 27, 2012 delivered a TV rating of 8.92. In comparison, the finale of 2011, which had CSK battling with Royal Challenge Bangalore (RCB), scored 6.44 TVR.
