Hindi GEC sees 24.38% rise in total impressions in Week 13: BARC India
DD National emerges as the most watched channel in overall (Hindi + Rural) and urban markets while Dangal continues to lead the rural market
The Hindi GEC category has witnessed a 24.38 per cent spike in total impressions across markets, as per BARC India data for Week 13. The return of classics on DD National have made the channel lead across markets in Hindi GEC except rural markets.
The total impressions in Hindi (U+R) market has grown by 24.38% to 6,311,176 (000s) total impressions as compared to 5,074,271 (000s) impressions. Similarly, the urban market too has witnessed a growth of 23.51% to 3,222,608 (000s) total impressions as compared to 2,609,264 (000s) impressions in week 12 as per BARC India weekly data.
The rural market grew by 23.89% to 3,088,571 (000s) impressions as compared to 2492994 (000s) impressions in the previous week.
Let’s take a look at the top five channels of the respective markets in week 13.
Hindi (U+R) (All Platforms)
Backed by Ramayan, Mahabharat, Shaktiman and other classic shows, DD National replaced Dangal at the leadership position in week 13. The channel recorded 1564867 (000s) impressions.
Dangal bagged the second spot with 1146883 (000s) impressions followed by Sony Sab on third spot with 864118 (000s) impressions and Big Magic on fourth with 749305 (000s). Sony Entertainment Television stood at number five with 489130 (000s) impressions.
Hindi GEC Urban
In Urban market too, DD National replaced Sony Sab at number one position and registered 910973 (000s) impressions followed by Sony Sab at second spot with 577457 (000s) and Sony Entertainment Television on third spot with 357705 (000s) impressions. Colors and Dangal bagged fourth and fifth spot with 290929 impressions (000s) and 264773 (000s) respectively.
Hindi GEC Rural
Dangal continued to lead the rural market this week as well and recorded 882111 (000s) impressions followed by DD National on second spot with 653894 (000s) impressions and Big Magic on third spot with 599410 (000s) impressions.
