BARC Week 13: Dangal takes the top spot followed by Star Sports 1 Hindi across genres

BARC India finally starts publishing weekly ratings on its website after refraining from doing so for several weeks post TRAI's NTO rollout

After withholding publishing of data on the site for many weeks, Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) has finally published TV ratings for week 13 on its website. The duration of the week is from March 23 - March 29, 2019. Dangal TV takes the top spot with 1164132 impressions followed by Star Sports 1 Hindi clocking 1094720 impressions. In fact, Dangal has secured the number one position in the Hindi GEC and Hindi GEC Rural as well. But Star Plus clinched the first position in the Hindi Urban category 439726 impressions. Sony Entertainment takes the second spot with 381808 impressions. 

In the top 5 program category for Hindi GEC, 'Ramayan' on Dangal took the top spot with 12874 impressions. The second position is taken by yet another show aired on Dangal 'Mahima Shanidev Ki'. Zee TV's 'Kumkum Bhagya', 'Kundali Bhagya' and 'Tujhse Se Hai Raabta' take the third, fourth and fifth spots respectively. 

Rural Market

Dangal's 'Ramayan', 'Mahima Shani Dev Ki', 'Sai Baba' and 'Bandini' take the top four spots in the Top 5 programs category in the rural section. The fifth spot went to Big Magic 'Maharakshak Aryan'. In the top 10 channels category, while Dangal tops it with 889036 impressions, Big Magic is on the second spot with 517938 followed by Zee TV, Star Plus, Colors, Sony Entertainment Television, STAR Bharat, SONY SAB, Sony Pal, and DD National. 

As for Hindi movies, B4U Movies take the top spot with 272463 impressions followed by Enterr10 and Sony Max. 

Urban Market

The top 5 programs in the urban market are 'Kulfi Kumar Bajewala' with 5745 impressions, 'Kasauti Zindagi Kay' with 5700 impressions, 'Super Dance Chapter 3' with 5680 impressions, 'Kundali Bhagya' with 5660 impressions, and 'Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai' with 5556 impressions. It is pretty clear here that in the Urban market Star Plus is the most preferred channel with its shows taking up four spots in the Top 5 programs category for week 13. 

As for Hindi movies, Star Gold takes the first position with 276896 impressions followed by Sony MAX, Zee Cinema, Movies OK, and B4U Movies. The credit for Star Gold's placement in the first position goes to VIVO IPL 2019. The telecast of the tournament takes the first spot in the Top 5 programs in the Hindi Movies category.
