Alok Jain to lead entertainment cluster for Reliance-Disney JV

Alok Jain has been appointed as the head of the entertainment cluster for the Reliance-Disney joint venture, which includes overseeing Colors, digital Hindi content, niche channels, movies, and studio operations. Jain, who currently serves as President of General Entertainment at Viacom18, assumed his role in 2023 and brings over two decades of experience in the media industry, including leadership roles at Star India and other organizations.

Jain’s team will be one of the largest within the JV, comprising eight key executives who will drive diverse segments across platforms:

Vivek Srivastava will be responsible for Hindi specials on streaming platforms, focusing on delivering high-quality, engaging content for digital audiences.

Arnab Das will handle the linear TV business for Colors Rishtey, aiming to strengthen the channel’s presence in the Hindi-speaking market.

Rohan Lavsi will oversee the Hindi movies business across platforms, optimizing reach and monetization for the JV’s movie portfolio.

Anusikka will manage the kids and entertainment business across platforms, focusing on content that appeals to younger audiences.

Anshul Ailawadi will handle youth, music, and English content across platforms, catering to a diverse demographic and content palette.

Ajit Andhare will lead the combined studio businesses, ensuring streamlined production and distribution across the JV’s entertainment ventures.

Shital Iyer will oversee the non-fiction content portfolio for the cluster across all platforms, bringing innovative formats and engaging programming to viewers.

Prachi Sahay will be responsible for business planning for the cluster, driving strategic initiatives to align with the JV’s revenue and growth goals.

An alumnus of IIT Delhi and ISB, Jain has a strong background in strategic, operational, and people leadership, with experience spanning both media and industrial sectors. His role as head of the entertainment cluster will focus on strengthening the JV’s general entertainment footprint across Hindi and regional markets, and creating a compelling, multi-platform content strategy.
