Senior journalist Virendra Sengar passes away

He is survived by his wife and daughter. His last rites will be performed in Noida on Thursday

Senior journalist Virendra Sengar passed away. He suffered a heart attack at his residence in Naukuchiataal, Uttarakhand, after which he was taken to Sushila Devi Government Hospital in Haldwani,  where he breathed his last.

70-year-old Virendra Sengar was born in a village Ghatampur in Kanpur countryside. He was active in journalism for the last 43 years. He started his career in the early eighties with the weekly 'Shaane Sahara' published from Kanpur and Lucknow. After this, he worked in Delhi as the political bureau chief in Amar Ujala Business, Chauthi Duniya, Sunday Mail, In TV Channel and Amar Ujala.

His investigative reporting was especially appreciated in the field of journalism. His detailed and in-depth investigation of Meerut's Hashimpura-Maliana firing incident and the Gujarat riots remained in discussions.

He is survived by his wife and daughter. According to family members, his last rites will be performed in Noida on Thursday.
