Zepto, the quick commerce platform, has temporarily suspended operations of its 10-minute food delivery arm, Zepto Cafe, across several North Indian cities. The affected locations include Delhi, Agra, Chandigarh, Mohali, Amritsar, and Meerut, impacting 44 Zepto Cafe outlets, as per media reports.
The company attributes the pause to supply chain constraints, which have affected vendor relationships and logistics. These challenges have led to disruptions in the timely delivery of food items, prompting the decision to halt services temporarily.
This suspension has also affected approximately 700 gig workers who were dependent on Zepto Cafe for their livelihood. The company has not provided a specific timeline for when services might resume, leaving workers and customers uncertain about the future of the service in these regions.
Zepto Cafe, launched in December 2024, had rapidly expanded its footprint, reaching over 100,000 daily orders by February 2025. Despite this growth, the current operational pause underscores the challenges faced by quick commerce platforms in maintaining service continuity amid supply chain and staffing issues.
As the company works to address these challenges, further updates are awaited on the resumption of services.
