Sanjay Kapoor-led panel elected unopposed as new Editors Guild of India leadership

The Editors Guild of India has announced that a new panel headed by senior journalist Sanjay Kapoor has been elected unopposed to lead the Guild for the 2025–26 term. The Election Committee confirmed that no other nominations or rival panels were filed, making polling unnecessary.
According to the official communication dated November 22, 2025, the Guild received three valid nominations:Sanjay Kapoor for President, proposed by Monu Nalpat and seconded by Seema Mustafa, Raghavan Srinivasan for General Secretary, proposed by Bharat Bhushan and seconded by Siddharth Vardarajan and Teresa Rehman for Treasurer, proposed by Suresh Bafna and seconded by Kumkum Chadha
With no additional candidates, the entire panel stood elected uncontested.
The Election Committee, comprising Rajdeep Sardesai (Convener) and Vijay Naik (Member), extended its best wishes to the newly elected office bearers as they take charge of the Editors Guild of India for the coming year.
