The Editors Guild of India (EGI), in partnership with St Joseph’s University, will host the Bengaluru Conclave on December 7th, 2024. 

Themed "Journalism @ Digital Crossroads: Legal, Technological, and Ethical Challenges," this day-long event will delve into the critical issues facing journalism today. 

The conclave will bring together leading journalists, media practitioners, and experts to discuss the evolving landscape of journalism in the digital age. Discussions will center around the legal frameworks and regulations impacting digital journalism in India, analyzing the influence of technology companies on media narratives and the implications for press freedom. Experts will also explore the role of artificial intelligence in news production and the ethical considerations surrounding its use, addressing the challenges of maintaining journalistic integrity in the digital world. The conclave will further tackle strategies to combat misinformation and fake news while upholding journalistic credibility.
