Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the demise of Balbir Punj, describing him as a prolific writer, thinker and public intellectual who made a significant contribution to the world of media. 

In a message shared by the Prime Minister’s Office, Modi said Punj’s writings were widely read and reflected a strong passion for national regeneration. He also said Punj’s parliamentary interventions were “rich in facts and theory.

The Prime Minister further said that Punj worked tirelessly to strengthen the BJP, especially among students, professionals, scholars and intellectuals. Modi also recalled that Punj had been in-charge of various states, including Gujarat, and remembered his interactions with him from that period.
