Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become the first world leader and politician to surpass 100 million followers on Instagram, marking a major digital milestone and reinforcing his expansive online reach.

Modi joined the Instagram in 2014, and over more than a decade his account has evolved into one of the most engaging political profiles on social media, featuring moments from official engagements, cultural highlights and public outreach. With this milestone, his Instagram presence now stands far above other global leaders on the platform.

With this, Modi’s Instagram follower count now stands well ahead of other global leaders. Donald Trump, the President of the United States, is in second place with around 43.2 million followers. Within India, the gap in political Instagram following is equally striking. The next most followed political figures include Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, with 16M followers and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi with 12.6 M followers, a fraction of the Prime Minister’s total.
