Journalism veteran Dasu Krishnamoorty turned 100 today, i.e. on July 1. Hailing from a family of journalists, Dasu Krishnamoorty has built an extraordinary career spanning over 70 years, marked by editorial excellence, academic leadership, and a deep commitment to ethical journalism.

From his early days at The Indian Express and Times of India to shaping media education at institutions like Osmania University and IIMC, he has been a guiding force in Indian journalism. His work reflects a rare blend of newsroom experience and scholarly insight.

Krishnamoorty was part of the first journalism batch at Osmania University under Prof. De Forest O’Dell in 1954–55.

Krishnamoorty began his career at The SentinelThe Deccan Chronicle and The Daily News. He later joined The Indian Express as Chief Sub-Editor. After being with The Times of India in Ahmedabad, he moved to New Delhi in 1969 and worked with Patriot for nearly two decades.

He was also a senior political commentator with All India Radio and taught mass communications at Osmania University, the Indian Institute of Mass Communications in New Delhi, and the University of Hyderabad.

After retiring from active journalism, Krishnamoorty shared his extensive knowledge associate professor at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, New Delhi. He was educated at Andhra University, the University of Bombay (LLB), and Osmania University (Journalism), before becoming an influential Indian print media journalist.
