Facebook updates Pages for Mobile to help businesses enhance their mobile presence
The new updates aim to make it easier for people to find what they’re looking for on a mobile device and to help businesses more easily display and configure the information they most want to get in front of their customers
Today, Facebook announced a host of Pages enhancements that will impact small businesses. They will also be updating the current international SMB pages number. According to Facebook, the Pages enhancements will help businesses enhance their mobile presence and introduce new tools for better communication with customers.
The company has launched Live Chats, Pages Messaging, Ads Manager app, SMB creative resources, plus educational resources to aid businesses have a more active presence on Mobile.
Facebook has updated Pages to make it easier for people to find what they’re looking for on a mobile device and to help businesses more easily display and configure the information they most want to get in front of their customers.
Some of the new features include having more prominent CTAs on Pages to help consumers find the information easily. Businesses can add new vertical-specific sections to new or existing Pages. New, easy-to-understand tabs on mobile devices aim to make it easier for people to find the information they’re looking for when visiting a Page and give more control of the Page.
They have created new tools to help businesses communicate with their customers better. Help Page admins will now respond faster to incoming messages (i.e. Create/save responses to common questions.) Businesses will be able to identify Pages that are very responsive to private messages and Page admins will now be able to reply to public comments with a private message.
Facebook is also testing several new call-to-action buttons on mobile, including “Call Now,” “Send Message” and “Contact Us,” making it easier for people and businesses to connect directly. Over time they plan to add additional calls to action to further help businesses drive their unique goals.
Additionally, they are beginning to add new sections to Pages, so different types of businesses can prominently feature the information that is most relevant to their organization. Recently Facebook added the Shop and Services sections to Pages to allow businesses to target their audience more specifically.
As more people connect with Pages from phones and tablets, Facebook is updating the Pages layout so information is easy to find without lots of scrolling and clicking. One way they are doing this is by giving each Page section a corresponding tab (how videos and photos have their own tabs). The Home tab, which is the landing tab on Pages, will also contain highlights of each section, so relevant information is front and centre when someone first gets to a Page.
