Renowned writer and eminent litterateur Dr. Suryakant Bali has passed away. He was ill for some time. Dr Suryakant Bali made a significant contribution to Indian culture and politics through his writings and journalism. There is a wave of mourning in the literary and journalism world over the demise of Dr. Bali.
Many people and organizations including the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) have expressed grief over the demise of Dr Bali and paid tribute to him.
Dr Bali was born on November 9, 1943 in Multan (undivided India). Talking about his education, he completed BA Honors (English), MA (Sanskrit) from Hansraj College and then PhD in Sanskrit Linguistics from Delhi University. After this, he associated himself with study, teaching and writing.
He wrote two books on political writings- 'Mahaprashna of India's politics' and 'Bharat ke Vyakti Ki Pehchaan'. Apart from this, he wrote three books on Indian archaeology- 'Contribution of Bhattoji Dikshit to Sanskrit Grammar (Ph.D. Thisis)', 'Historical and Critical Studies in the Atharvaved (Ed)' and a book on Mahabharata- 'Mahabharat: Punarpaath'. He presented Vedic narrative forms for the first time in Hindi in the form of two novels 'Tum Kab Aaoge Shyava' and 'Dirghatama'.
