Veteran actor Dheeraj Kumar, who also served as the Chairman and Managing Director of Creative Eye Limited, an Indian media conglomerate, has passed away at the age of 79 after battling pneumonia.
According to media reports, Kumar was on ventilator support at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. He reportedly breathed his last on 15 July.
Kumar was widely known for his contributions to Punjabi cinema between 1970 and 1984. In addition to his acting career, he also directed several television shows and appeared in Hindi films such as Sargam, Roti Kapada Aur Makaan and Beharoopia.
