Amar Ujala MQ 2012: Team TCS clinches thriller finals
Bangalore’s Team TCS comprising Sreekanth G & Jayakanthan R proved their media mettle at the Amar Ujala MQ 2012 finals, scoring 115 points
Team TCS comprising Sreekanth G and Jayakanthan R, which had won the Bangalore regionals, proved their media mettle at the Amar Ujala MQ 2012. The team clinched the grand finals, held in Mumbai on June 29, with a total score of 115 points.
But the win didn’t come easy as Team TCS faced some spirited competition from Team Krew Kut Klan comprising Sorbojeet Chatterjee from Neo Sports and Aneesh Surender Madani from Nimbus Sport, which had won the Mumbai regionals earlier in the day.
The finals went into a thrilling tie-breaker, where Team TCS just about surged ahead. Team Krew Kut Klan’s final score was 105.
Celebrating their moment of victory, Bangalore’s Team TCS said, “The quiz was not only related to media, but also comprised various aspects of advertising, which made it interesting. It was nice to be a part of the quiz and this was truly an eventful platform, where the quiz was fairly balanced.”
Quiz masters for the grand finale were Sam Balsara, Chairman & MD, Madison World, and Vikram Sakhuja, CEO, South Asia, GroupM.
The finals were preceded by the Mumbai regionals. Team Krew Kut Klan won this round with a total score of 80 points. Talking about winning the regional finals, Sorbojeet Chatterjee from Neo Sports said, “We think this is a great interactive event. I have earlier participated in Media Quiz in Delhi and this is the first time I have participated in Mumbai.” His teammate Aneesh Surender Madani from Nimbus Sport, added here, "We didn't particularly prepare. The fun of it was in working out the answers based on our experiences in the industry."
Quiz masters for the Mumbai regionals were Ajay Kakar, Chief Marketing Officer, Aditya Birla Group, Financial Services, and Gitanjali Sriram, Founding Partner, Naked Communications.
