Speaking about the overall experience to lead the jury, Vivek Gambhir, MD & CEO, Godrej Consumer Products said, “It was a very engaging day, we had lot of learning’s and discussions to choose the top 50 brands. It wasn’t an easy task because there were so many high-quality brands to choose from with such stellar track records. We discussed a lot and what was quite interesting was the kind of convergence we saw amongst the jury in some of the top brands that we selected, as we discussed and debated we recognised that there was a form of commonality more than differences amongst all of us, despite having a jury with such diverse backgrounds. The jury members listened to each other and what was quite remarkable was the kind of convergence we felt in terms of the winning entries. The process worked very well.

Sharing his view on being one of the jury members, Ram Mehrotra VP- Sales & Marketing Nerolac Paints describe, “Overall construct of the programme was very well designed, and ample info about each segment was available. This was a difficult task, but the overall process was transparent. Everybody gave their own views on why they selected a particular brand. The justification was attached to every brand while judging. In the end, the coordinator ensured that fair voting was done and everybody was satisfied.

“Marketing is such an exciting function full of challenges and lots of innovation every single day and therefore, choosing across all categories, which brand really matters to the Indian consumers is something that wasn’t easy, but we powered through open discussions, heated arguments, lots of debates and consensus. I am sure the brands we have chosen you all will agree, they deserve to be in the Pitch Top 50 brands of India, said Nikhil Chand Director, Food & Confectionery, Nestle India.

Abhishek Desai, Director of Marketing Operations, P&G said, “Interesting connections and amazing exchange of thoughts we had. Usually, when we are working in our roles, we are bottled down within the categories that we work in. It was a great opportunity to broaden the horizon, judging the brilliant examples of brands have done across categories be it Indian or multinational.
