The International Cricket Council (ICC) reported total event revenue of USD 728 million for the calendar year 2024, down from USD 839 million in 2023, primarily led by the commercial success of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup hosted in the West Indies and the USA.

The revenue from the T20 World Cup alone was USD 691 million, highlighting the growing global appeal of the short-format game, especially in emerging markets like the United States. India’s dramatic win over South Africa in the final ended an 11-year ICC trophy drought and drew a massive global television audience of 404 million.

Other ICC events contributed modestly to overall revenue: the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in the UAE generated USD 18 million, while the U19 Men’s World Cup in South Africa added USD 17 million.

Total revenue and other income for the year amounted to USD 777.9 million, which includes USD 12.8 million from the ICC Group’s commercial and other activities, and USD 36.6 million in interest and other financial income.

The ICC recorded a net surplus of USD 474 million for 2024. Total costs stood at USD 303.9 million, comprising USD 231.7 million in event-related costs, USD 44.9 million in general and administrative expenses, USD 20 million in strategic investments, and USD 7.3 million in finance and other costs.

Members’ funds at year-end totaled USD 564.5 million, consisting of an allocable surplus of USD 445 million and general reserves of USD 119.5 million.

In July 2023, the ICC approved a new financial model for the 2024–2027 period. Aligned with the Indian media rights deal — the council’s single-largest revenue stream — the model retains the structure of the previous cycle while introducing a Strategic Investment Fund and a Contingency Allocation.
