Sunil Dang elected as first National President of Social Media Association

Veteran media professional Sunil Dang has been unanimously elected as the first National President of the Social Media Association (SMA).
In a LinkedIn post, Dang shared, “I had the privilege of participating in the Social Media Association event in Uttar Pradesh alongside Rajkumar Sagwan, MP Bagpat, and Rajinder Agarwal, former MP of Meerut. I'm delighted to announce that I have been unanimously elected as the National President of the Social Media Association during the AGM.”
The association, with over 600 members, focuses on combating misinformation and advocating for a holistic regulatory framework for social media content.
Dang's illustrious media career spans over decades, including his role as Editor and Publisher of The Day After since 1985. He has held notable positions, including serving on the Prasar Bharati Board and the Forward Markets Commission (FMC), and has played a key role in India’s media and regulatory sectors. His commitment to journalistic integrity and media professionalism is further reflected through his involvement with the Press Council of India and the Indian Institute of Mass Communication.
