Sony PIX’s Chicks on Flicks make home on Facebook
Hollywood film review show ‘Chicks on Flicks’ has made a comeback, but this time instead of television, it has taken an online avatar on Facebook.
‘Chicks on Flicks’, the Hollywood film review show on Sony PIX which went off air a few months back, is back. But this time, instead of the TV screen, the show is switching mediums and will be on Facebook.
Citing the reason behind opting for Facebook for ‘Chicks on Flicks’, Sunder Aaron, Business Head, PIX, said, “In an age where youngsters are constantly hooked on to social networking sites, ‘Chicks on Flicks’ could not have had a better platform. The show will also be very current since reviews will be shared the same day as the theatrical release of the films through Facebook. This new season of ‘Chicks on Flicks’ is very special to us and we are very proud to share it with our viewers.”
The new avatar of ‘Chicks on Flicks’ allows audiences to interact with the two hosts via Facebook. It is also convenient since the reviews are available online and need not be followed on television at a fixed time and day.
Commenting on the marketing strategy, Himmat Butalia, Marketing Head, PIX, said, “We are going to make an application on Facebook. Along with that we will also have stamp ads. These stamp ads would appear on the wall of those people who have not liked Sony PIX’s page, that way they would come to know about ‘Chicks on Flicks’.”
Sony PIX feels that going on Facebook is the fastest way to communicate with its fans regarding the review of a film. The show went off air as the movies were released on a Friday, but ‘Chicks on Flicks’ would go on air only the following Friday with a particular film’s review, which made no sense for the channel. For more updates, be socially connected with us on
