Dainik Bhaskar embarks on ‘The Brain Hunt’

Continuing with its initiatives to engage Gen Next, Dainik Bhaskar Group has launched The Brain Hunt 2012. This initiative is the fourth one under the Group’s Bhaskar Champs Club, a club instituted for school students to develop reading habits and boost future readership.

The Club’s earlier activities include Scrapbook Activity in 2010, followed by Junior Picasso, a national level painting competition, and Junior Editor – both in 2011.

Speaking to exchange4media, Vinay Maheshwari, Vice-President - Sales & Market Development, Dainik Bhaskar, explained, “Brain Hunt 2012 is our initiative to hunt for visionary brains. It is a true roller-coaster ride with 16 mind-boggling activities presented in a wonderfully crafted activity workbook available pan-India from January 11, 2012. It’s not just a one-time project, rather I would say we are seeing it in a long run future scope. This will engage the readers’ mind and they will be connected to our paper for a long span of time.”

He further said, “We are targeting students for this because they are going to be our educated future readers. To promote this activity, we are targeting all forms of media, besides our teams are visiting different schools and colleges to create awareness about the Brain Hunt.”

The past initiatives of the Club have seen the participation of more than 1 lakh children. Dainik Bhaskar is expecting the number of participants for The Brain Hunt 2012 to be around 2.5 lakh.

The activity is being promoted in 13 states – Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Jammu, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Gujarat and Maharashtra. The activity will be organised in four languages – Hindi, English, Marathi and Gujarati. The activity, which commenced in January 2012, will be completed by March 2012.
