Netflix and Spotify are joining forces to bring video podcasts to the world’s biggest streaming stage. Beginning early 2026, Netflix will host a curated lineup of Spotify’s most popular video podcasts, including The Bill Simmons Podcast, The Rewatchables, The Zach Lowe Show, and Conspiracy Theories. The rollout will start in the U.S., followed by global expansion later in the year.
The collaboration marks a strategic shift for both platforms as they respond to the growing demand for video-based podcast content, an area currently dominated by YouTube. For Netflix, it’s another step in diversifying its catalogue beyond scripted series and reality formats. For Spotify, the partnership opens up a new distribution avenue, expanding its creators’ reach through Netflix’s vast global subscriber base.

Lauren Smith, Netflix’s VP of content licensing and programming strategy, described the partnership as a natural evolution, “As video podcasts rise in popularity, this collaboration helps us deliver fresh perspectives and engaging voices to our audiences.”
Echoing this sentiment, Roman Wasenmüller, Spotify’s VP and head of podcasts, said the deal “ushers in a new chapter for podcast discovery,” helping creators connect with new audiences and bringing fans closer to the content they love.
Although the move's financial details are yet unknown, it highlights a larger trend in the sector as entertainment platforms are increasingly combining formats to meet audiences where they are, whether that is on screen, in sound, or somewhere in between.
