Facebook loses perfect 5 rating, slides to 23rd spot on Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work
According to Glassdoor data, the social media giant has been evaluated poorly by employees on its work-life-balance and leadership parameters
Facebook has had a proverbial fall from grace after the social media giant lost its perfect 5 ratings on Glassdoor’s Best Places to Work in 2020 list. It has also lost its top 10 ranking, sliding down to a dismal 23rd spot. Employee ratings had dropped from 5 to 4.5 last year. This year, it further fell to 4.4. The company has been rating poorly by the employees on its leadership and work-life balance parameters.
Facebook has been subjected to criticism in the past over its purported unethical handling of user data, for spreading misinformation and for planning to roll out the cryptocurrency Libra.
Although the reviews are mostly positive on Facebook’s Glassdoor page, a few of them also comprised criticisms. “Know what you are getting into,” said one employee ominously who gave it just 2 stars. A current employee working at the company gave it 3 stars, with a review: "Okay, needs to work out some kinks" “A stumbling and a lost giant,” said another who also rated it 3.
This time around, Hubspot Inc topped the list, followed by Bain & Company, DocuSign, In-N-Out Burgers and Sammons Finance Group in the top 5.
Facebook is not the only underperformer in the list. Search engine giant Google is on the 11th spot and Apple on 84th, both of whom have dropped 3 and 13 spots respectively. Microsoft has climbed upwards at 21st spot and Amazon failed to make the cut in the top 100.For more updates, be socially connected with us on
