The European Commission has proposed that Google needs to allow third-party search engines to access its search data to comply with the Digital Markets Act.

As per global news reports, Clare Kelly, Google's senior competition counsel, said the tech giant would "fight against the measures" as it "overreached and would jeopardise users' privacy".

As per the EU, the aim is to allow third party online search engines to "optimise their search services and contest Google Search's position".

The commission has allowed interested parties to submit their responses till May 1, and the final decision will be out in July.
