Festivals have always been a good marketing opportunity for brands across the world.

As Muslims across the world celebrate Eid-al-Fitr today, we look at how some brands utilised this occasion to market their offerings.

With the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan, footwear brand Bata came up with their latest campaign #LetsWalkTogether, portraying the feeling of brotherhood and camaraderie amongst friends and colleague. Bata created a digital film highlighting the emotional bond between peers.

RSPL Group, manufacturers and marketers of Ghadi detergent, have just unveiled a new campaign under the ‘#SaareMaelDhoDaalo’ brand idea, centred around Eid. The TVC urges consumers to get rid of bias based on gender, race, appearance or relationships. The TVC highlights the story of a household where the mother-in-law is touched by her son-in-law’s efforts in helping her daughter with the daily chores. However, back home she doesn’t approve of her son helping his wife in a similar manner, until her husband points out the flaw in her judgment.

Max Fashion with its new commercial for Eid talks about inclusivity. Although Eid is a holy festival celebrated by one community, the Max commercial talks about the festival being for everyone, going beyond caste, creed or religion. The commercial brings alive a heart-warming story emphasising the need for celebrating festivals together despite our outward differences. Through the new Eid commercial, Max urges people to open not just their doors but also their hearts. Staying true to the nature of this festival, the film narrates the very core of this festival, togetherness and spreading happiness. Festivals of today celebrate togetherness and help in building communities.

Reliance Trends in a film, conceptualised by Brave New World, talks about the story of a mother and daughter. The girl notices how her mother carries out all her duties during Ramadan and breaks her own 'Eid fund' to gift her a piece of clothing.
