Amazon names Indra Nooyi as Director
Nooyi, former PepsiCo Inc Chief Executive Officer, will be on the company’s board
Amazon.com Inc has appointed former PepsiCo Inc Chief Executive Officer Indra Nooyi as a director.
Nooyi is the second woman to be named to the company’s board in February. The move comes as part of the e-commerce giant's attempt to increase diversity.
With this appointment, Amazon’s 11-member board now has five women, including Nooyi, Brewer, Jamie Gorelick, Judith McGrath and Patricia Stonesifer.
Earlier in February, Starbucks Corp's Chief Operating Officer Rosalind Brewer was appointed as a director.
Nooyi will be part of the board's audit committee. She resigned as the CEO of PepsiCo in October 2018 and as its chairman earlier this year. For more updates, be socially connected with us on
