MSL Group is said to be in the process of acquiring independent PR agency Perfect Relations, according to media reports.
MSL Group is the PR arm of French multi-national advertising, PR and media company Publicis Groupe.
Media reports also claim that the deal will close in December and the new entity will be named MSL-Perfect.
MSL’s earlier acquisitions were PR agencies Hanmer and 20:20 Media.
Some reports had speculated in the recent past that Perfect Relations was in acquisition talks with WPP’s PPR as well as MSL. It may be recalled that Perfect Relations CEO Valerie Pinto stepped down from her role in September this year.
Speculations about the deal have been plenty. Reports claim that Perfect Relations has had acquisition offers from other companies like Fleishman – Hillard & IPG too.
Earlier instances of international advertising companies acquiring Indian PR agencies in the past are Burson-Marsteller that acquired Genesis PR and Omnicom’s Ketchum acquiring Sampark.
Perfect Relations is one of India’s largest and oldest independent PR agencies along with Adfactors.
It was founded by former journalist Dilip Cherian and Bobby Kewalramani. Its clients include blue chip companies like Coca-Cola, Chanel, Google, Acer, Franklin Templeton, Morgan Stanley, Godrej, Diageo and Sony among others.
