Havas Media’s Anita Nayyar moves to BCCL; Mohit Joshi heads MPG India

After a stint of over five years with Havas Media, Anita Nayyar has put in her papers at the company. Nayyar, who had joined the company as CEO for MPG India in January 2007 and was subsequently elevated to be the CEO of Havas Media – South Asia, is believed to be leaving at the end of this month.
It is understood that Nayyar is headed to Bennett, Coleman and Company Ltd (BCCL) that owns brands such as The Times of India and The Economic Times.
Confirming the development to exchange4media, Vishnu Mohan, CEO, Havas Media – Asia Pacific said, “After five years Anita is leaving behind an organisation seven times stronger, with several specialist brands that comprise 40 per cent of the group’s portfolio and a strong talent force that are leaders in their own right. We thank her for her stewardship and wish her success in this new stint on the other side after 28 years in the agency business. We are at present in the process of identifying a suitable leader for this role and should make an announcement to that effect shortly.”
The company has also announced the elevation of Mohit Joshi as Managing Director, MPG India. Joshi who has also been with the group for over five years was the Managing Partner at MPG.
Mohan, who is based in Mumbai, will be overseeing Havas Media India operations directly until a successor for Nayyar’s role is announced. Joshi along with the unit heads of all of the specialist brands such as Havas Digital, Media Contacts, Mobext, Ecselis, MPG Active, MPG Solutions, Catalyst, and Havas Sports and Entertainment will be directly reporting to Mohan for now.
Prior to Havas, Nayyar has worked with Starcom, Mediacom, Initiative and Ogilvy.
