The week gone by has had several interesting developments in the advertising and marketing world.

The news that made a splash in the world of social media was Instagram introducing Reels in India. This format offers a new way to create and share short videos on Instagram.

Meanwhile, Ajay Gahlaut announced his decision to step down as CCO & MD of Publicis Worldwide, India. The agency also announced the elevation of Vikash Chemjong and Basabjit ‘Tito’ Mazumdar to the role of Joint National Creative Directors.

We began the week with exclusives of Kulmeet Bawa quitting as Resulticks President & COO, JAPAC. Bawa is likely to join a technology major as the CEO.

We also reported about Barista CEO Puneet Gulati moving on. Gulati is expected to announce the launch of his business venture in the next few months.

A big news in the marketing world was Pepsico's Deepika Warrier joining Diageo as the CMO. In her last role at PepsiCo, Warrier was helming marketing operations at NourishCo Beverages Limited. 

Meanwhile, Diageo's Julie Bramham was named Global Brand Director for Johnnie Walker. The current India CMO Bramham will move to Amsterdam to handle the new portfolio as Deepika Warrier joins as Chief Marketing Officer on 27 July.

Manoj Padmanabhan has joined Amazon Web Services as Head of Business Development, M&E sector. He was previously with Horizon Broadcast Electronics Pvt Ltd as Director

In account win news, Wavemaker India has won the media mandate for Sun Pharma. As part of the mandate, Wavemaker will handle integrated media for the pharmaceutical company.
