In the week gone by we put the Spotlight on whether marketers are ready to embrace the full-service model. The full-service model has made such a huge comeback in the recent years that every significant player in the ad world is now offering it. Hotstar, the streaming platform, appointed Punitha Arumugam as Platform Evangelist, with the mandate to showcase the power of the platform to India’s leading brands. Cannes Lions owner Ascential unveiled a complete revamp of the festival, introducing several changes aimed at simplifying the event as well as keeping costs down for attendees. This move comes after it came under pressure from advertising holding companies, who have come to see the Cannes festival as “too expensive.” The cost of a delegate pass, which has exceeded €4,000 in recent years, is being cut by €900. Cannes is also freezing 2017 hotel prices for 2018, and offering fixed-price menus (€20 & €30) for festival pass-holders at more than 50 restaurants across the city. Publicis Groupe, immediately applauded the change and announced it will be returning to Cannes in 2019. Anuradha Prasad, Chairperson BAG Films (News 24/Radio Dhamaal), has been re-elected as President of the Association of Radio Operators for India (AROI). This is her fourth consecutive term in the office. In an exclusive chat with exchnage4media, IPL Chairman Rajeev Shukla spoke on how the game format will be as powerful as FIFA in the next five years. On recent completion of elections in Himachal Pradesh, exchange4media also spoke to Chetan Bragta, Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Social Media (in-charge) who also spearheaded the BJP’s social media campaign during the state elections. The exchange4media group celebrated the best of work in the Public Relations and Corporate Communications world in Gurgaon on Thursday with the India PR & Corporate Communications Awards. The big winner this year was Value 360 Communications that won four gold, two silver and two bronze metals thus emerging as the PR Consultancy of the Year. Pereira was conferred with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his immense contribution to the industry.
