Grant Smith joins MDC Partners agency Yamamoto as Chief Creative Officer

Smith previously held various positions at McCann New York and BBDO New York

MDC Partners has appointed Grant Smith as Chief Creative Officer of Yamamoto, according to news reports. Smith will take over the responsibilities previously handled by Executive Creative Director, Andy Thieman, who left the company in April this year.

He will report to Kathy McCuskey, CEO of Yamamoto and will be responsible for driving the company's growth and strengthening its creative team.

Smith previously worked with McCann New York as Executive Creative Director. Prior to this, he served as Executive Vice President & Senior Creative Director at BBDO New York, where he worked with various brands including AT&T and Visa. He has also freelanced for several companies including, DDB New York, Droga5 and Elephant.

Yamamoto, a Minneapolis-based, full-service advertising agency, has worked with brands such as Caterpillar, Samsung, and Xcel Energy.
