Telecom veteran Harinder Kumar appointed TRAI Secretary

Harinder Kumar has been appointed the Secretary of The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). The appointment is for a two-year term.
Prior to this, Kumar was a senior executive at Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). The appointment comes as TRAI continues to play a central role in shaping policies on telecommunications, broadband services, digital inclusion and emerging technology ecosystems.
According to the official communication, issued on June 10, Kumar, an Indian Telecom Service (ITS) Officer, will join TRAI on deputation under foreign service terms.
Kumar is currently serving as Chief General Manager of BSNL’s Maharashtra circle.
