- Rakshit Hargave has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Britannia Industries for a five-year term, pending shareholder approval.
- Hargave expressed enthusiasm about his new role, aiming to transform Britannia into a global total foods company.
- He brings over 20 years of experience in consumer goods, retail, and manufacturing, with previous leadership roles in both India and international markets.
- Prior to joining Britannia, Hargave served as CEO of Birla Opus and held senior positions at Beiersdorf AG, Hindustan Unilever, and Tata Motors, among others.
Rakshit Hargave has taken charge as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Britannia Industries.
The appointment, approved by Britannia’s board for a five-year term, is subject to shareholder approval.
e4m had reported of Rakshit Hargave's appointment on November 6.
Commenting on his appointment, Hargave said he felt privileged to lead the iconic organisation, describing his first day in the role as “amazing” after meeting teams across the company. He added that he looks forward to working together to build Britannia into a total foods global company.
Hargave brings over two decades of experience across consumer goods, retail and manufacturing, with leadership roles spanning India and international markets.
Prior to joining Britannia, he was the CEO of Birla Opus, the paints business of the Aditya Birla Group, where he played a key role in building the business from the ground up, including setting up manufacturing capabilities and scaling distribution.
Earlier in his career, Hargave served with Beiersdorf AG, leading operations across the ASEAN and ANZ regions, and was also the Managing Director of NIVEA India. He has also held senior leadership roles at Hindustan Unilever as Sales and Marketing Director, and worked with Kimberly-Clark Lever, Lakmé Lever, Jubilant Foodworks, and Nestlé India.
He began his professional journey at Tata Motors, gaining early exposure to operations and manufacturing, which laid the foundation for his leadership across FMCG and consumer-facing businesses.
