John McDonald has been appointed as Chief Marketing Officer at HSBC. The company shared the news of his appointment through a LinkedIn post.
In this newly established role, John will bring together the Marketing and Brand functions across HSBC’s four primary businesses: Hong Kong, the UK, HSBC Corporate and Institutional Banking and HSBC International Wealth and Premier Banking.
Prior to this, John McDonald held the role of Group CMO at UBS.
"John will lead in shaping and delivering our marketing strategy, branding initiatives and client engagement to support HSBC’s ambition to become the most trusted bank globally, putting our customers at the heart of everything we do", the company said.
In the past, McDonald has held leadership positions in the agency, corporate and start-up world, working across geographies, disciplines and categories for some of the world's most iconic companies.
