Emmanuel Marill has joined OpenAI as the company's first Managing Director for EMEA. He shared the news of his new role through a LinkedIn post. 

“I’m really excited to share that I’m joining OpenAI as Managing Director for EMEA. I’m looking forward to bringing my experience building and scaling international operations to OpenAI, to help even more people across the region benefit from this technology. A new chapter begins - I can’t wait to get started”, Marill stated in his LinkedIn post.

“AI has already transformed the way I do my work and how I get more done in my personal life. Across EMEA, people, businesses, developers and entrepreneurs are building, learning and innovating with it every day. As the technology advances, and as attention rightly grows on how it is developed and used, I feel privileged to be joining OpenAI at this important time”, he added.

Prior to this, Emmanuel Marill was with Airbnb as Managing Director EMEA & ANZ.

Welcoming Marill to OpenAI, Jason K, Chief Strategy Officer, said, ““Welcome to OpenAI, Emmanuel Marill! I’m excited to share that Manu is joining OpenAI as our first Managing Director for EMEA. In this new role, he’ll oversee our business and operations across the region”, the LinkedIn post read.

“EMEA is a key region for OpenAI, with the UK, France, Germany and Spain among our top countries for ChatGPT and Codex users. Manu’s leadership will help ensure we have a regional strategy, partnerships and operating model that best serves the growing demand from local users, developers, businesses and institutions”, he added.
