Brendan DiBona, Executive Creative Director at AKQA, has moved on from the company after a 24-year stint. DiBona informed the news of his departure through a heartwarming LinkedIn post. He starting that AKQA was his professional home for over two decades and choosing to move on was a challenging task for him.

“After a long, rewarding journey I’ve recently chosen to end my time at AKQA. I resigned in early February and with the transition, ended officially in mid-March. AKQA was my professional home for over two decades, and choosing to leave was challenging. Erik Rogstad did a beautiful job capturing this unique place in his recent exit post. The hard part was leaving a team I would have happily retired alongside. The easy part was honoring the principles that have given me everything to this point in my career. And while I wish I could have authored a different ending, I recognize that, eventually, the forces of change are undefeated”, his LinkedIn post read.

DiBona also thanked Ajaz Ahmed for creating AKQA and remembered his time working with him. “Most of all, thank you to Ajaz Ahmed, who, in creating AKQA, understood and never compromised the delicate balance it takes to create memorable work. A foundation built on standards of quality and care for each other that never waned. It was a truly magical place to be”, he stated.

“I’m planning more time away to reset. I will take a moment to honor the past, spend time in the present, and consider what’s next. A close friend and mentor wisely encouraged me, “Don’t forget to dream”, he added.
