Ron Peterson, who was the Managing Partner at AKQA, has announced that he is moving on from the company. He was with the company for over 12 years.
In a LinkedIn post, Peterson described his journey at the company and stated that he first came across AKQA when he was a 26-year-old surf company owner in Honolulu who thought anything was possible with a bit of hard work and entrepreneurialism.
“As I continued to follow the company Ajaz Ahmed was building, I saw blockbusters flying out of the kitchen and I wanted in. All in. So much that when the opportunity arose at 34, my wife, myself and our dog packed two suitcases and headed East towards London. Fast-forward to today, and over the past 12 years as a team, we’ve done the unimaginable. We delivered world-class work. We built, built, and built some more. Teams. Studios. Relationships. Character. Values. Each other. Art. Culture. Code. From London to Gothenburg, Stockholm to Dubai, Brussels to Cairo, Riyadh to Cape Town, Johannesburg and beyond. We became a team obsessed with breaking new ground in partnership with the world’s most exacting brands. We believed that Character Vitae beats Curriculum Vitae, any day of the week”, he stated in his LinkedIn post.
“And so as I resign from my duties as Managing Partner at AKQA, I want to say thank you for making a 26-year-old’s dream come true. Thank you to Ajaz for the belief since Day 1, and to the teams and clients that push to make tomorrow better. I’ve been powered by you, I’ve been inspired by you, and I forever hold our ride with incredible pride. And thank you to my incredibly supportive wife and son”, he added.
