Akshita Nandagopal elevated to Executive Editor, Output at India Today TV

India Today TV has elevated Akshita Nandagopal to the position of Executive Editor, Output, expanding her responsibilities within the channel’s editorial leadership team.

In her new role, Nandagopal will work closely with Samkhya Edamaruku, Group Managing Editor – Production, to coordinate between the Output and Production teams. She will report to Supriya Prasad, Editorial Director, India Today.

Nandagopal has been associated with India Today in her current stint since April 2019, serving as Senior Editor. Her work at the network has encompassed newsroom operations, editorial planning and on-air journalism.

She has also anchored news programmes, explainers and political discussions for the channel. In January 2026, for instance, she hosted an India Today debate examining the BJP’s political strategy in southern India.

This is Nandagopal’s second stint with India Today. She previously worked with the organisation as Senior Associate Producer between March 2016 and June 2017. She subsequently joined Republic World as Principal Correspondent, working with the network from July 2017 to February 2019 in Mumbai.

Before her first stint at India Today, Nandagopal served as Senior Associate Producer at INX News between April 2015 and March 2016.

Her earlier experience includes working with Associated Broadcasting Company’s TV9 and News9 as an Associate Producer and Anchor. Based in Bengaluru, she was associated with the organisation from June 2012 to December 2014. She began her journalism career with a brief reporting assignment at the Press Trust of India in Chennai in 2011.

Across a career spanning more than a decade, Nandagopal has worked in reporting, anchoring, editorial production and newsroom management. Her experience across both editorial and production functions is expected to support her expanded mandate at India Today TV.

As Executive Editor, Output, Nandagopal will play a key role in ensuring coordination between editorial decision-making and the channel’s production operations. The elevation marks the next phase of her association with India Today and places her within the senior editorial structure responsible for shaping the channel’s daily news output.
