BARC Week 34: Dangal replaces SUN TV at the top spot across genres
The re-entry of Sony Entertainment Television in the list is significant as Kaun Banega Crorepati season 11, which began August 19, may have boosted the channel’s impressions in a big way
After reigning for a week, Sun TV slipped to the second position with 850711 impressions giving Dangal the chance to cinch the first position once again with 860070 impressions, as per the recent BARC data. But it is the re-entry of Sony Entertainment Television on the list which is of importance here. ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ season 11 began from August 19 and it may have boosted the channel’s impressions in a big way. SET takes the sixth position in the tally with 661005 impressions. Star Plus and Star Maa swapped places at third and fourth while Zee TV moved up the ladder from seventh to fifth position. B4U Kadak slipped down from fifth to 8th rank in week 34. Sony Max has moved out of the list.
In the Hindi GEC category, Dangal continues with its winning streak and also bettered its impressions. While in week 33 it had 824413 impressions, it has gone up to 856987 impressions in week 34. Rest of the tally is also same with Star Plus taking the second spot followed by Zee TV and SET.
In the top 5 programmes category (U+R), it has almost remained the same with minor shuffling of places and SET’s Superstar Singer Singing Ka Kal moving out of the list. Kundali Bhagya. Kumkum Bhagya, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Tujhse Hai Raabta and Yeh Rishtey Hain Pyaar Ke take the first five spots on the list.
SET gained immensely in week 34, thanks to KBC 11 it seems. From the third position, it moved up to the second on with 458374 impressions while Star Plus continues to be the leader with 523637 impressions. Sony SAB moves to third place followed by Colors, Zee TV, Dangal, Star Bharat, Star Utsav, &TV and Big Magic.
In terms of top five programs, Star Plus’ Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai continues to be on top with 9141 impressions followed by Kundali Bhagya as it was on week 33. The Kapil Sharma Show and Superstar Singer Singing Ka Kal have moved out of the list and Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma and Yeh Rishte Hai Pyar Ke moved in.
There has been no change in the pecking order here since week 33 with Dangal on the top followed by Big Magic, Zee TV, Star Plus and Sony SAB. In the top 5 programs category, there is an inclusion of Rehna Hai tere Palkon Ke Chhaon Mei and Tujhse Hai Raabta in the fourth and fifth category.For more updates, be socially connected with us on
