BARC India has launched BMW version 22.#. With this new version, BARC India aims to help cut down the time invested in making a Planview (creating pre evals). This will make work easier and less time-consuming. BARC has also incorporated the TeleView module that enables users to analyse the content along with the measurement metrics provided by BARC.

Other modules, however, remain unchanged.

This version would only be launched in 64Bit; development on the 32Bit would be discontinued going forward (32Bit machines can continue using ver 21.4)

Changes in BMW 22.#v

1. Faster Planview: Leveraging ‘Multi Thread Technology’ introduced by Microsoft in Windows 10, BMW is now able to reduce the time taken for a plan to load and evaluate by a huge margin. However, in the earlier Operating system there is a small “Screen Freeze” (freeze time would depend on the plan properties one would have).

The table below (across several config machines) shows how the new version will help enhance productivity vis-à-vis the current version.

Estimated Time mentioned in HH.MM.SS format. The estimation is for standalone version. The speed of Server user also greatly depends on the bandwidth.

Plan Properties: 45K spots, 861 fringe lines, 17 regions, 1 Target Group, 8 Weeks pre evals period and 116 channels, Scheduled plan

2. Streaming version of TeleView: BARC offers a premium service called TeleView which gives users the opportunity for a better analysis of the viewership ratings with the use of video footage corresponding to the actual content that was played on the channel(s). This will be offered in the form of offering a streaming service which will not involve any downloading of content.

3. Bug fixes: General bug fixes and changes in playout have been implemented in this version.
