Asia Cup 2018: First Ind vs Pak match watched by 29.4 million

BARC data shows that this India-Pak match has got the highest viewership in the tournament so far

When it comes to cricket, nothing can beat the craze in India. And the excitement increases manifold if a tournament involves matches with arch rival Pakistan. Asia Cup 2018 on Star Sports witnessed the same reaction from the viewers.

Though the first match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in Dubai on September 15 started off with 3.4 million impressions, the India vs Pakistan match on September 19 garnered a viewership of 29.4 million impressions, according to BARC India data. This is the match that has got the highest viewership in the tournament so far.

The second match between Hong Kong and Pakistan on September 16 registered 2.5 million impressions, followed by the third match between Afghanistan and Sri Lanka with 3.1 million impressions.

The matches that India played have got the highest viewership among all the matches. The fourth match between India and Hong Kong on September 18 registered 11.2 million impressions. The match on September 20 between Afghanistan and Bangladesh bagged 4.5 million impressions.

In Super 4, the match played on September 21 between Afghanistan and Pakistan recorded 2.4 million impressions whereas the faceoff between India and Bangladesh garnered 17.8 million impressions.

The tournament started on September 15 and will have the final match on September 28. A total of 13 one-day internationals have been broadcast live on Star Sports 1, Star Sports 1 HD, Star Sports 1 Hindi, Star Sports 1 Hindi HD, Star Sports Select, Star Sports Select HD, Star Sports 2, Star Sports 2 HD and Star Sports Tamil.
