Rajesh Ramachandran has been appointed as the new Editor of The Tribune, a Chandigarh based newspaper, sources have confirmed to exchange4media.

Ramachandran took over as Outlook's Editor-in-Chief in August 2016. This was his second stint at Outlook. Earlier he worked with the magazine as a reporter and had done exposes on Petroleum Adulteration and Veer Savarkar: The Inside Story.

exchange4media had earlier reported that Ruben Banerjee would be replacing him as Outlook's Editor-in-Chief.

Ramachandran has over two decades of experience as a journalist in dailies, magazines and even in television news channel.

Known for his political analysis and commentary, Ramachandran has done big breaking stories like the coffin scam, and the BALCO valuation scandal. He has had stints with some of the biggest news organisations of the country like The Times of India, The Economic Times, Hindustan Times, The Hindu, The India Today Group and NDTV. Before joining Outlook, he was the Political Editor and columnist with The Economic Times.

Ramachandran's appointment comes months after Harish Khare resigned as The Tribune's Editor-in-Chief post barely two months after it published a shocking report on security flaws in the Aadhaar database. Khare had joined The Tribune in June 2015 and even offered to quit last year in protest against the three-column apology that The Tribune made for publishing reports on Bikram Singh Majithia, a former minister, and his involvement in drug trade. According to an online news portal, the apology was reportedly forced upon him. For more updates, be socially connected with us on
