In a bid to connect with the young readers, NaiDunia has launched a newspaper for school children in Indore on November 15, 2010. Priced at Re 1, the eight-paged ‘Berliner’ is published six days a week and has been launched simultaneously in 20 schools of Indore and is available in the schools on demand only.
With this special initiative, NaiDunia Media aims to reach out to students in classes 6th to 12th and enrich them with information and knowledge. The content strategy comprises a mix of current news, values and learning for the students. The content design team at NaiDunia has researched each and every aspect of the students’ knowledge needs and has come out with this mission – NaiDunia Disha.
More than 15,000 students are being targeted through this initiative. The newspaper is delivering current news like a mainline newspaper, but the news is customised as per the needs of the children. There are sections such as puzzles, science projects, jokes and riddles that have been added in the newspaper to challenge the minds of the young readers.
NaiDunia Disha also carries short stories for students accompanied by coloured images. These stories are motivational, educative and entertaining. It also has the science section, which updates the students with the latest developments in science. Other attractions include life transforming lessons.
Newspaper also has a fun section called ‘FunDunia’, which is based on the concept of ‘learn with fun’. Moreover, the paper carries one page that has been designed by students themselves. With this, NaiDunia Disha claims to be of the students, by the students and for the students.
