The theme for this year’s India Today Conclave is ‘The Asian Century: Securing the Global Promise.’ The focus will be on contemporary concerns, interests and innovations. It is scheduled to take place in the capital on March 16-17, 2012. The inaugural keynote address will be given by social activist, Anna Hazare.
ThinkTent is an innovation brought in this year to increase the reach of the conclave and to
engage the India of tomorrow—young executives and management students. Conceived as an outdoor event in a massive tent, ThinkTent will beam proceedings live via giant screens concurrently with the conclave.
This year there will be a concurrent session, Business Today Budget Studio@India, on March 16. The live budget coverage will be accompanied by senior editors from Business Today and experts from the world of finance explaining the implications of the budget.
There will be a debriefing session from the Union Finance Minister, Pranab Mukherjee, a day after he presents the budget to the nation. Day 2 of the conclave will open with the Finance Minister’s keynote address, explaining his budget.
Akhilesh Yadav, the most talked-about new face of tomorrow’s India, will address the conclave. There will also be many heirs of political dynasties from across India and its neighbours such as Namal Rajapaksa, MP, Sri Lanka; Sajeeb Wazed, Special Adviser to Awami League, Bangladesh; Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir; and Shehrbano Taseer, Journalist, Pakistan.
