Rajdeep Sardesai re-elected President of Editors Guild; to up the ante against paid news

Rajdeep Sardesai, Editor-in-Chief, IBN Network, has been re-elected President of the Editors Guild of India for a second term at the elections held in the Capital on December 22, 2009. Coomi Kapoor, a columnist with The Indian Express Group, has been elected the General Secretary. Rohit Bansal has been re-elected the Treasurer for yet another term.

Rajdeep Sardesai re-elected President of Editors Guild; to up the ante against paid news

Rajdeep Sardesai, Editor-in-Chief, IBN Network, has been re-elected President of the Editors Guild of India for a second term at the elections held in the Capital on December 22, 2009.

Veteran journalist Coomi Kapoor and a columnist with The Indian Express Group, has been elected the General Secretary. She takes over from K Sachidananda Murthy, Resident Editor – Delhi, The Week, who was repeatedly and warmly requested to stay on.

Rohit Bansal, has been re-elected the Treasurer for yet another term.

Speaking to exchange4media, Sardesai said, “The single point agenda for the year 2010 would be to campaign against and stop paid news. A resolution to this effect will be passed on December 23, 2009 by the Editors Guild of India.”

He added that further details would be revealed following the passing of the resolution.
