With heads held high, brands celebrate Republic Day
Brands like Lava Mobiles, Videocon and ixigo come up with campaigns that aim at evoking patriotism and speaking out against social evils
Republic Day marks the day when the Constitution of India came into effect. So as India gears up to celebrate the 70th Republic Day on January 26, brands get creative and roll out campaigns that champion social causes, patriotism and could well tug even at the most cynical heartstrings. From Videocon to ixigo, these ad campaigns capture the essence of patriotism, pride and the day’s historic significance just right.
LAVA Mobiles has released a new film as part of its ongoing ‘Proudly Indian’ campaign.
The film has been created specifically in tune with the celebration of India’s 70th Republic Day which falls on January 26. This film is meant to evoke a sense of pride among citizens who, perhaps, don’t own the same sense of patriotism as their previous generation. The question the film poses is: ‘How difficult is it to make a small effort for the country?’ The films reaches out to every Indian to spare a thought about how they would like to celebrate this Republic Day.
Videocon, too, has come up with a campaign to drive home the message that we must fight against corruption primarily to become better citizens of the country. It shows how corruption is rampant among various institutions and offices. The ad with very minimal branding strikes a chord while making a case for flagging off change and battling nagging issues like bribery and corruption that sets us back as a nation and individuals.
With rap songs trending left, right and centre, on this Republic Day ixigo, train app and leading travel marketplace, is set to shake things up with its own rap song as a tribute to the Indian Railways.
If you think Ranveer Singh is beating it out in ‘Gully Boy’, wait till you hear their take on rapping about making travelling in trains cool again in the song titled 'Train Mein Hai Swag'.
This is Take 2 of their last year’s video celebration titled 'Train Mein Hai Ghar Wali Baat’, which showcased how Indian Railways unites the country and its people. It also deals with the warmth and emotion of Indians which connect them to situations that they have experienced on a train trip. This year’s video celebrates the fun of train travel from a millennial point of view and the cool moments they have with their friends and families.
