Walmart India has pared back its advertising and promotional spends in FY25 while delivering modest revenue growth and a sharper reduction in losses.
The company has spent Rs 6.09 crore on advertising and promotions in FY25, down 5.7% from Rs 6.46 crore in FY24. The tighter marketing outlay reflects a sharper focus on cost controls, even as the retailer seeks to strengthen its wholesale footprint.
Revenue from operations stood at Rs 5,330.9 crore in FY25, a 2.6% increase from Rs 5,194.9 crore in the previous year. Including other income, total income rose 3.3% to Rs 5,374.0 crore, compared to Rs 5,200.3 crore in FY24.
Losses narrowed significantly, with the company reporting a net loss of Rs 109.9 crore in FY25, against Rs 154.1 crore in FY24, an improvement of 28.7%.
